What are the required continuing education hours for Washington real estate professionals?
Washington real estate licenses need to be renewed every two years.
For your FIRST renewal cycle, Washington real estate licensees must complete 60 hours of continuing education. 30 of the hours must be in a course called Real Estate Practices; the other 30 can be in any topic of interest to you as a real estate professional.
For subsequent renewal cycles, Washington real estate licensees must complete 30 hours of continuing education, with three of those 30 hours in an approved core curriculum topic.
What courses are available to meet my continuing education needs?
ProSchools offers over 200 hours of home-study courses – both workbook and online. All have been reviewed and approved by the Washington Department of Licensing. ProSchools courses are recognized as highest quality and accepted in Washington for continuing education credit.
What is the core course?
Every two years, the Washington Department of Licensing (DOL) selects three or four topics of key interest to real estate professionals and requires that ALL licensees take a three-credit hour course covering these “key interest” topics. Generally, the core course topics relate to new law changes, and/or clarification in areas where the DOL has received consumer complaints about interactions with real estate professionals.
How do I receive a certificate of completion?
ProSchools guarantees to issue your certificate within 24 hours of course completion if you completed a workbook course. All of our online courses allow you to print out your certificate of completion immediately upon completion.
What’s a passing score on a continuing education course final exam?
70% or better. However, don’t sweat it – the exams can be completed open-book.
What happens if I fail my final exam?
If you fail to pass the final for a ProSchools course, an alternate final exam will be issued until you do pass. |
