How long does it take to complete the program of study?
You must complete a state-approved 90 hour prelicensing course. NOTE: As of December 31, 2009 the number of prelicense hours will increase to 120 hours.

Do I need a college degree to get my real estate license?
No, the only education required is a state-approved prelicense course. For a mere fraction of the cost of an associate’s or bachelor’s degree, you could earn a six-figure income and have a flexible schedule! For more details on state licensing requirements, click here.

Should I get any additional books on the subject?
Sure, reading as much as you can about succeeding as a real estate agent is a wise strategy. ProSchools offers an array of books, including Real Estate Field Manual, On Track to Success in 30 Days, Real Estate Prospecting, and many more in our online bookstore.

Do Utah real estate licensees have continuing education requirements?
To renew a license on active status an individual must complete 12 hours of certified Real Estate Continuing Education Courses and/or Online Continuing Education Courses every renewal cycle (two years), including the mandatory three-hour Division Core Course (a minimum of six hours must be “live” education).

Does Utah offer license Reciprocity with any other state?
Yes. If you are an agent licensed in another state, you can obtain a Utah license either through reciprocity or by qualifying for an education waiver. Contact the Utah Division of Real Estate for a complete of reciprocal states at 801-530-6747 or realestate@utah.gov.
