How long does it take to complete the program of study?
The Oregon prelicense program is 150 hours. You’ll spend that time
reading online lessons, watching flash reviews, completing interactive games, taking quizzes, and practicing for
the state exam by taking competency exams. Typically students take one
or two months to complete the full program of study. It just depends on
how much time you commit to studying on a regular basis.
Do I need a college degree to get my real estate license?
No, the only education required is a state-approved prelicense course like ProSchools’.
For a mere fraction of the cost of an associate’s or bachelor’s degree,
you could earn a six-figure income and have a flexible schedule! For more details
on state licensing requirements, click here.
Can I attend ProSchools if I live in Bend, Oregon?
Yes. You can live anywhere in the state or outside of the state. Our program is designed to be taken as a self-directed course.
Should I get any additional books on the subject?
Sure, reading as much as you can about succeeding as a real estate agent is a
wise strategy. ProSchools offers an array of books, including Real Estate Field
Manual, On Track to Success in 30 Days, Real Estate Prospecting, and many more
in our online bookstore.

Do I need a different license to become a commercial real estate agent?
In Oregon, residential and commercial real estate professionals receive
the same license. The same coursework and state exam are required to receive
the license.
Why is a background check required?
Since real estate professionals have access to homes, businesses, and
personal and financial information, state licensing agencies need to protect
the public by ensuring only trustworthy people enter the profession. Prior
to receiving your license, you must have a police background check and
submit fingerprints.
The Oregon
Real Estate License and Examination Information describes in detail what you
must disclose on the background check application, what they are looking for,
and how long the process will take.
How do I complete the background check?
You must submit a background check application, the associated fee, and
a completed fingerprint card to the Oregon Real Estate Agency. All ProSchools
offices have the forms available, and offer appointments to get fingerprinted
for a reasonable fee. Many law enforcement agencies also offer the service
by appointment. |
