What are the required continuing education hours for Nevada real estate professionals?
For your FIRST renewal cycle, Nevada real estate licensees must complete 30 hours of Post-licensing education. Original real estate licenses are valid for a one year period ending the last day of the month during which you obtained your license.
For subsequent renewal cycles, Nevada real estate licensees must complete 24 hours of continuing education. Nevada real estate licenses need to be renewed every two years.
- Salesperson's must have 3 hours each of Agency, Contracts, Ethics and Law & Legislation. The remaining 12 hours are in General courses with an optional maximum of 3 hours in personal development.
- Broker's must have 3 hours each of Agency, Contracts, Ethics, Broker Management and Law & Legislation. The remaining 9 hours are in General courses with an optional maximum of 3 hours in personal development.
Are the post-licensing education requirements waived for any reason?
Yes. The requirement for post-licensing education does not apply to a first-year licensee who:
- Holds a real estate license issued by another state or territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia, on the date on which the first-year licensee obtains a real estate license issued by the State of Nevada.
- Held a license as a real estate broker, real estate broker-salesman or real estate salesman issued by the State of Nevada within the 5 years immediately preceding the date on which the first-year licensee obtained a license as a real estate salesman
- Is licensed as a real estate broker-salesman and obtained the qualifications for licensure as a real estate broker-salesman under Nevada statutes and regulations section 645.343.
Those who qualify to have the post-licensing education waived are required to complete 30 hours of continuing education.
