We’ve compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions regarding the Online Learning Center. Please contact Technical Support if your question is not addressed below. Specific contact information can be located by logging into the online learning center and clicking the “Contact Us” link.

I’ve forgotten my username and/or password. Can you send them to me?

Yes. To retrieve your username and password, go to the Online Learning Center login page, click on the link titled “Misplaced your username or password?” and enter your email address. An email will be sent to your email address with your username and password. If this procedure does not work for you, contact customer service or technical support.

I’ve signed up for a course the Online Learning Center, now what do I do?

You first need to log into the Online Learning Center with the login name and password you selected during the enrollment process. To log into the Online Learning Center, point your internet browser software to the website of the school or company you purchased the course from. On that website you will find a link to log into the Online Learning Center. Click on that link, and then enter your username and password. If you’ve misplaced your username and/or password, click on the line “Misplaced your username or password?” and the information will be automatically emailed to you. Under the text “Enrolled Courses”, click on the course you would like to start. You will now see the “course homepage” for that course. The course homepage includes introductory instructions and a table of contents to access all course materials, quizzes, and exams. Read the instructions on the course homepage AND any instructions included in the Table of Contents carefully before starting your study.

I select "Lesson" in the table of contents but the document does not display, it displays incorrectly, or I receive an error.

Some online courses include Lessons that are stored in Adobe Acrobat format. In order to display Acrobat documents you need to have the Acrobat Reader software installed on your computer. Acrobat is available for free download off the internet. You may need to install, or reinstall Acrobat. Your course includes a section titled “Software Check” in the “Course Instructions” chapter that tests for the presence of Acrobat and offers installation instructions.

I select "Review" in the table of contents but the presentation does not play, does not play correctly, or I receive an error.

Some online courses include Reviews that are presented in Macromedia Flash format. In order to display the reviews you need to have Flash installed on your computer. Flash is available for free download off the internet. You may need to install, or reinstall Flash. Your course includes a section titled “Software Check” in the “Course Instructions” chapter that tests for the presence of Flash and offers installation instructions.

The audio for the chapter reviews seems to stop and start as it plays. What should I do?

Your connection to the Internet may be slower than that required for this course. For the Review to function properly your Internet connection should be at least 35K. A connection speed lower than this rate may be the result of a faulty modem or poor phone connection. You may want to consult your phone company or Internet service provider for assistance.

I need to install Adobe Acrobat, how do I do this?

Adobe Acrobat is available for free download off the internet. Your course includes a section titled “Software Check” in the “Course Instructions” chapter that tests for the presence of Adobe Acrobat and offers instructions on its download and installation.

I need to install Macromedia Flash, how do I do this?

Macromedia Flash is available for free download off the internet. Your course includes a section titled “Software Check” in the “Course Instructions” chapter that tests for the presence of Flash and offers installation instructions.

I reach the end of a quiz or exam, and I can't move on.

You've likely skipped one or more questions. You are allowed to skip questions in the Scored quiz format, however, you will have to answer all questions before submitting the quiz for grading. To answer your skipped questions, click the down arrow next to "Unanswered." The questions you've skipped will appear. Select each question consecutively and choose an answer by clicking on A, B, C, or D. When you have answered all skipped questions, the "SUBMIT EXAM" button will appear. Click it, and your exam will be graded.

I can't login to the Online Learning Center Web site. The login page states, “You must be using a JavaScript enabled browser to access this Web site.”

The Online Learning Center uses JavaScript and requires that it be enabled in your browser software. Your browser software likely has JavaScript disabled. To enable JavaScript in Microsoft Internet Explorer, click on Tools, click on Internet Options, click on the Security tab, under “Security Level for this Zone,” change the setting to Medium. This should enable JavaScript, press F5 to reload the page. You should now be able to login. If you are using internet browser software other than Microsoft Internet Explorer, consult the “Help” function within the software.

I was in the middle of my course when the system stopped responding and/or an error appeared on my screen stating, “Page cannot be found”.

This problem may be caused by a loss in your internet connection to the Online Learning Center servers. Unfortunately, if this occurs while taking a quiz or exam, your session will be lost, and you will have to start the exam again. This problem can be difficult to diagnose, as your connection to the Online Learning Center travels through your Internet Service Provider and a myriad of routers and switches before it reaches our server. Any failure along this point can cause this problem. If this problem occurs to you, we request you notify our technical support staff, as we do want to track its frequency. We also suggest you contact your Internet service provider. If this happens frequently, you may want to check you computer hardware and your Internet connection settings.

In order to insure reliable access to the Online Learning Center, we’ve located our servers in a secure “data center” that specializes in hosting mission critical Internet Servers. This “data center” offers redundant high-speed connections to the Internet, critical cooling, and adequate power backup.
