Online Training Makes its Way to the Front of the Class
Release date: 07/16/07
Release when: Immediately
According to The Distance Education and Training Council, approximately 4 million people are taking online courses at U.S. colleges, universities, and vocational schools. Mortgage lenders are no different. In fact, ProSchools, a pioneer developer of online courses in over 20 states, found an increase of 30 percent in the number of students taking online mortgage lending training and online real estate training.
ProSchools has found that students do as well or even better on the state exam than those opting for the traditional classroom.
"We have seen a huge shift in how people want to complete their education," says John Vogler, Vice President of Sales for ProSchools. "Mortgage lenders don't want to drive hours to attend live classes anymore. Nor do they want to take time off work because of scheduling conflicts. Being able to complete their education from home or office is not just a want anymore--it has become a necessity.”
Effective January 1, 2008, Washington State Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) requires all loan originators have a valid loan originator license in order to conduct business in Washington. Submitting an application no longer permits someone to conduct business. A person must be issued a valid loan originator license and pass the Promissor test first.
ProSchools’ online exam prep is a comprehensive course, designed to prepare people to pass the mortgage lending exam, covering mortgage lending laws, concepts and practices involved in the mortgage industry. “ProSchools is excited to begin offering this product. We are committed to helping the mortgage industry in Washington and assist loan originators wanting to obtain their mortgage lending license,” Vogler adds.
DFI also now requires licensed loan originators and designated mortgage brokers to complete continuing education in order to maintain their license. DFI has approved several ProSchools’ online mortgage lending courses.
ProSchools offers classes in
real estate education, insurance education, mortgage lending education, and property appraisal.
ProSchools, with over 50 years experience developing real estate, insurance,
and mortgage lending courses, is also an approved mortgage provider in Oregon,
Washington, Nevada, Idaho, Iowa, Illinois, Georgia, Maine, Oklahoma,
Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Nevada, Florida, Texas, and Wisconsin.
