“Hawaii Core 2009-Part A” Available to Hawaii REALTORS®

Hawaii Real Estate Commission Requires Licensees take “Hawaii Core 2009-Part A” for License Renewal

The newly approved “Hawaii Core 2009-Part A” course is now available to all Hawaii Real Estate Licensees as well as education providers. Licensees have been alerted that during the second year of the licensing biennium, the odd-numbered year, Part A of the core course will only be offered in an online format.

The Hawaii Real Estate Commission requires all salespersons and brokers complete 10 hours of commission-approved continuing education (CE) every two years in order to renew their Hawaii real estate license. Of the required 10 hours of continuing education, 4 hours must be a commission-approved Hawaii Core course.

Every renewal cycle, the Hawaii Real Estate Commission selects three or four topics of key interest to real estate professionals and requires that all licensees take a four-credit hour course covering these “key interest” topics. Typically, the core course topics relate to new law changes, and/or clarification in areas where the Commission has received consumer complaints about interactions with real estate professionals.

The 10 hours of continuing education must be completed during the two-year period preceding the renewal application. Licenses must be renewed prior to November 30 of each even-numbered year (e.g., 2006, 2008, 2010).
