Tennessee Insurance License Exam Structure and Content
Each major lines examination is given in a multiple-choice format and consists of two parts. In order to pass an examination, you must pass both Part 1 and Part 2 within one year of each other. The passing score is 70.

Part 1 deals with general insurance product knowledge. Part 1 consists of 50 questions that count towards the score and 10 pretest questions that do not count towards the score. Part 2 deals with insurance laws, rules, regulations, and practices that are unique to Tennessee. The number of questions on Part 2 depends on which of the major lines examination you are taking.
