ProSchools, an NMLS approved course provider, submitted several prelicense courses to the NMLS in mid-July. The NMLS will not be approving continuing education courses until late 2009. Vermont Loan Originator Renewal Requirements

All licensed mortgage loan originators must complete 8 hours of NMLS approved continuing education by December 1 of each year. The hours must include at least 3 hours of federal laws and rules; 2 hours of ethics, including fraud, consumer protection, and fair lending issues; and 2 hours of training relating to lending standards for nontraditional mortgage products, i.e., any product that is not a 30-year fixed rate mortgage.
