Due to recent law changes this state-approved course must be completed by December 31, 2009! This course meets the 3-hour ethics requirement as set forth in the S.A.F.E. Act. This law requires all mortgage loan originators nationwide to complete, at least, "3 hours of approved education on ethics, which shall include instruction on fraud, consumer protection, and fair lending issues."
This course focuses on ethical practices in mortgage lending; the identification and prevention of loan fraud; and the prevention of housing discrimination through: the Fair Housing Act, the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), and the Community Reinvestment Act. Each law is broken down and explained, including purpose, prohibited actions, notification and disclosure requirements, and complaint and enforcement procedures.
