Oregon Insurance License Renewal Requirements

Licensing Period: Effective January 1, 2008, the renewal date for all resident licensees is changing to the "birthday renewal" rule. All resident licensees will now renew in the month of their birthday instead of the last day of the month you passed your licensing exam. This will not result in a shortened licensing period, it can only lengthen your current licensing period. For more information on this important new change to Oregon Insurance Continuing Education requirements please visit our blog.

Continuing Education hours: Effective January 1, 2008, all licensees will only have to complete 24 hours of continuing education no matter how long you have been licensed. For more information on this important new change to Oregon Insurance Continuing Education requirements please visit our blog.

Ethics Requirement: Effective January 1, 2008, the Ethics requirement will be changed from a 2-hour minimum to a 3-hour minimum. ProSchools Ethics course is already a 3-hour course. For more information on this important new change to Oregon Insurance Continuing Education requirements please visit our blog.

Law Requirement: At least 3-hours of law is required. ProSchools' Insurance Law for Oregon Producers satisfies the 3-hour law requirement.

Long Term Care Requirements Effective January 31, 2008

Effective January 31, 2008, all life and health insurance producers that wish to sell or continue selling LTC insurance coverage must complete a one-time Long Term Care training course consisting of no less than eight hours of training, and complete a minimum of a four-hour "refresher" course every two years thereafter.

Online courses offer an ultra-convenient way to fulfill your CE requirement. Available anywhere you have Web access, the online courses involve reading, listening to summary reviews of key facts, then taking short quizzes to assess your retention of the significant points. All of your scores are recorded in our Web-based system. Upon passing the final exam online (70% is passing), you are able to print out your certificate of completion.

Workbook courses are considered by many to be the most convenient. The traditional text format makes it easy for you to review important content.
