  2. To complete the program, I must clock the required number of instructional hours and complete all required quizzes and final exams.
  3. Should I wish to continue the course or program beyond the enrollment period and educational requirements change, I may be required to purchase updated materials and pay additional course and/or material costs.
  4. ProSchools will review requests for credit for previous training on a case-by-case basis.

Cancellation and Refund Policies Distance Education Instruction

  1. A student may cancel enrollment by giving written notice to the school within five business days after the date of enrollment or prior to delivery to the student of any lesson materials, whichever occurs later. Students canceling after this five-day period but prior to beginning their program of study will be charged the registration fee only.

    1. A student who withdraws after the start of the training program and before the completion of more than 60% of the program will be refunded a pro rata amount of the tuition agreed upon in the enrollment agreement, minus 10% of the tuition or $100, whichever is less (e.g. a student who withdraws after completing 10% of the program is entitled to a 90% refund, less registration fee).

Enrollment and Fees
ProSchools does not discriminate based on race, sex, religion, ethnic origin, or disability. Prospective students may enroll anytime.

In general, the State of Nevada requires license applicants to be at least 18 years old.

Tuition may be paid by check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover.  The tuition includes access to all lessons, multimedia reviews, quizzes, and final exams.

Attendance
Internet based courses are conducted on an independent study basis with an enrollment period of 12 months. Student’s hours are automatically logged by the Online Learning Center.  To complete the program, the student must clock the required number of instructional hours and complete the required quizzes and final exams.

Grading Policy
A student must pass, within one year, all required course practice exams and quizzes.  The student must spend the minimum required hours in the course in order to receive credit.  The student must receive a score of at least 75 percent to pass each course.  The exams are taken online with the grades posted immediately.  In the event a student does not pass, the student may take additional final exams.  In the event the student does not complete the course within one year, the student may ask for an extension from the school.  The school shall maintain a student progress report on each student showing when each exam was taken and the score given. The student, at any time, is able to print out a copy of his or her progress report.

Since the course is offered through distance learning (individualized instruction method), students can work at their own pace.

Refund Policy

  1. A student may cancel enrollment by giving written notice to the school within five business days after the date of enrollment or prior to delivery to the student of any lesson materials, whichever occurs later.  If cancellation occurs during that five-day period, all monies paid to the school by the student shall be refunded.  Students canceling after this five-day period, but prior to beginning their program of study, will be charged the registration fee only.
  2. A full refund is provided if the student is not accepted by ProSchools.  When an enrollment application has been accepted by the school and not canceled under the provisions of section (1) of this rule, the following refunds apply:

       A)  A student who withdraws after the start of the training program and before the completion of more than 60% of the program will be refunded a pro rata amount of the tuition agreed upon in the enrollment agreement, minus 10% of the tuition or $100, whichever is less (e.g. a student who withdraws after completing 10% of the program is entitled to 90% refund, less registration fee).

          B)  A student who withdraws after completion of more than 60% of the training program is not entitled to a refund.

  1. A full refund is provided to the student if education service is discontinued or if the institution has substantially failed to furnish the training program agreed upon in the enrollment agreement.
  2. All refunds are processed within 15 days of termination withdrawal.

Postponement of a start date, whether at the request of the school or the student, requires a written agreement signed by the student and the school.  The agreement must set forth an agreed upon extended period of time in which the student is allowed to complete the coursework. The refund policy as set forth from purchase date of program does not change as a result of the extension of time to complete the program.

Account for Student Indemnification
The Nevada Private Postsecondary Education Division requires that, if in the unlikely event the school should close, you have the right as a currently enrolled student to be notified, may be entitled to a refund and arrangements to receive education at another licensed institution.  This is entitled by State rule, the Account for Student Indemnification.

Student Conduct and Dismissal
All students are expected to respect the rights, privileges, and property of others, to not interfere with the school operations, and to not endanger the health, safety, and/or welfare of others.

Students may have their enrollment terminated by the school for the following reasons:

    1. Nonpayment of tuition
    2. The student is not using the course material in the manner in which it was designed.
If the School uses this option, the total fee shall be refunded.

Placement Assistance and Transferability
The school does not provide assistance or counseling for graduates in arranging interviews with potential employers. Current law prohibits any school from guaranteeing job placement as an inducement to enroll students.

The school does not guarantee the transferability of its credits to any other educational institution. It is solely up to the receiving school to determine whether credits will be accepted.

If a student has a transcript from another school showing completion of required courses and evidence of course approval by the appropriate Nevada regulatory authority, at the discretion of the school, credit may be given toward a program certificate.  Acceptance of credit from another school shall not impact the refund policy.

Course Format & Suggested Procedure
ProSchools online programs of study include clear course instructions, meaty lesson materials, real-world examples, fill-in-the-blank brainteasers, multimedia summary reviews of each chapter, comprehensive quizzes, practice final exams, a key word glossary and an index.  The materials are designed based on sound instructional concepts and extensive research.

Upon completing the reading and assignments of each chapter, students take a quiz to reinforce the information covered.  Quizzes are graded within the LMS and scores are maintained within the student record.

Each course’s table of contents serves as the student’s roadmap as to the order in which to complete the coursework.  If a student simply follows the table of contents from top to bottom, and completes each of the assignments in order as presented, he or she will succeed with the course and ultimately with the license and exam processes.

Significant time was spent gathering feedback from students as to what works and doesn’t work to help them succeed with their studies.  In addition, instructors with decades of experience in training developed the course materials and designed an effective overall course flow.

Student Support
Each student receives an orientation document that includes step-by-step instructions on the best way to proceed through the coursework.  The orientation document includes a full section on how to take the quizzes and final exams, complete with screen shots, and a section on how to receive a certificate of completion for the course.  All materials and resources are available to students online.

A myriad of resources are available for a student to get help should he or she need it.  The Technical FAQs assist students with computer hardware and software related problems.  The Course FAQs assist students with course content, state licensing and exam related questions.

Should a student not find the answer they need in the online FAQs, the “Help” section goes on to provide telephone and e-mail access for technical issues, instructor support for content issues, and customer service support for logistical issues.  ProSchools provides 8am to 6pm (PST) phone support at 800-299-3606.  ProSchools guarantees less than 24-hour response to all student inquiries received via e-mail Sunday through Friday.  Saturday inquiries are responded to on Monday mornings (within 48 hours).

Students should check with the appropriate Nevada regulatory agencies to confirm that the program/course work will satisfy initial or renewal licensing or certification requirements of that agency.
