Continuing Education Requirements

The SAFE Act requires Washington licensed mortgage loan originators to meet annual continuing education requirements. The minimum continuing education requirements to renew a mortgage loan originator license in Washington are:
  • Complete 9 hours of NMLS-approved continuing education. The education must include a minimum of:
    • three hours of federal mortgage law;
    • two hours of ethics;
    • two hours related to the nontraditional mortgage market place;
    • one hour of Washington mortgage law.
