Some agents will say they are very busy, showing houses and getting listings, but the real question is, how many homes are actually selling? What is going on in your area and what is happening around the nation?
If you are a new real estate licensee or a ProSchools’ student working on getting your real estate license, you might want to pay attention to what is going on in the real estate market. When you start talking to people about real estate, you will be asked questions about the market and you need to have answers.
In researching, I came across some great real estate market blogs that I wanted to share. You might want to bookmark this blog as I am posting some great resource links which provide current information.

A great resource for current real estate news is Realtor Magazine which posts current real estate industry happening nationwide.
Another good site is Realty Times which posts links for market condition reports in every state, Canada and Costa Rica. This blog also features top headlines in the real estate industry.
A third good website is policymap.com. This is a national data analysis and mapping tool to help you understand the markets you are concerned about. You can even use this information in your own reports.
LOCAL REAL ESTATE MARKET ACTIVITY
I found a great real estate market activity blog for the Portland, Oregon metro area.: Portland Real Estate Activity. This blog is written by Ron Ares with M REALTY LLC. Each month Ron posts a market summary and a market report by area. His charts are informative and easy to understand.
For other locations, run a Google search for your local area’s real estate market activity.
