New Jersey Real Estate Continuing Education

On June 6, 2011, the New Jersey Real Estate Commission adopted rules requiring real estate brokers, broker-salespersons and salespersons to complete continuing education. What does this mean? In order to renew your license on July 1, 2013 you must have completed 12 hours of Real Estate Commission approved continuing education by June 30, 2013. The 12 hours must include at least 6 hours in "Core" topics and 2 hours must be in "Ethics". The rest can be in elective topics.

It took a few weeks once the rules were adopted for the New Jersey Real Estate Commission to get everything in place to facilitate the implementation of continuing education. I am happy to say ProSchools was approved as a Continuing Education provider and received approval for several CE courses just a few weeks after the implementation was finalized. Better yet—the courses we submitted as Core topics also meet the Ethics requirement!

For more information on the new continuing education requirements, visit the New Jersey section of ProSchools' website or the New Jersey Real Estate Commission website.
