Real Estate Business and Holidays

Well, it’s that time of year again. Thanksgiving is a few days away and Christmas is right around the corner. Families are traveling, children have time off school, the weather is getting colder and drivers are dealing with snow and ice on the roads...Burr!!

This is generally a slow time of year for real estate professionals. Even if you don’t celebrate the holidays, they will still have an impact on your real estate business. Most buyers slow down their house hunting adventures until after the first of the year. Only the serious buyers are looking at houses and only motivated sellers allow people to view their homes during this time.

As this is a slow time, many real estate professionals take vacations and spend time with their families. They know that after the first of the year, business will pick up again. Experienced real estate agents have built their referral network and know they can take time off with their loyal clientele waiting for their return.

New real estate licensees may decide to work and continue to build their client base. If a new licensee is getting leads from their office, this is a perfect opportunity to capture new business that might have gone to someone who is taking the time off.  Some agents have made extra sales because they chose to work during the holidays.
