South Carolina Extends NMLS Licensing Deadline

Last week the South Carolina Board of Financial Institutions (BFI) sent out a memo extending the processing and licensing deadline for mortgage lenders, servicer applicants, and mortgage loan originators until December 31, 2010.  Looks like July 30, 2010 was the previous deadline.  Keep in mind  SC has MLOs licensed under Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) too and they have their own deadlines.

Mortgage lenders (originators and servicers) that get their application filed and pay the fees can continue operating in the state until the extended date. The new deadline will help accommodate SAFE testing as well as processing issues. Read the SC BFI Memo for more information.
