The NMLS Conference is coming up February 7-10, 2011. ProSchools will have a couple representatives attending the Orlando conference. Topics at the conference are geared for those in the mortgage industry, state regulators, and mortgage education providers. As I looked over the NMLS conference schedule, here are some sessions I think sound especially interesting:
•An opportunity for mortgage professionals to address specific issues their companies or individuals are having when using the NMLS to meet state licensing requirements
•A look at the impact Dodd-Frank and SAFE Act have had on the mortgage industry
•Expected 2011 changes with the registration of banks and credit union MLOs
•Benefits of the quarterly NMLS Mortgage Call Reports and how they can be used by state regulators
•Examination and regulatory actions
•MLO test performance and pass rate information
•2011 survey results for prelicense and CE education providers
As an approved education provider, this is a great opportunity for ProSchools and other providers to gain insight into the mortgage industry and how we can improve our mortgage training courses, both functionally and in content. Will give a quick summary of what we learn afterwards, so stay tuned!
