In a review of the NMLS test information found on their website, we found that California, Indiana and Virginia have made changes to their NMLS State Test Content Outlines. In checking further, it turns out that Indiana and Virginia have simply removed a law reference list that had been part of their outlines, so there are no new topics to study!
California, however, actually made a minor change to its outline in Section II:
II. California Law and Regulation Definitions (10%)
G. Penal Code (Sections 528-539, 570-583)
In addition, an "effective date" of October 18, 2011 has been added to the bottom of the first page of California’s Test Content Outline."Effective Dating” refers to the practice of assigning a test component an effective date which to show test candidates how up-to-date the legislation is which is used to determine the content of test questions. The “Effective Dating” practice will be applied to selected test components and then gradually applied to all test components over time.
