Washington Long-Term Care Training Changes!

Good afternoon, PIBbers!  I hope that you’re in the mood for yet another change to the world of long-term care (LTC) education!  Washington has changed their requirements for LTC certification, and it’s unfortunate, but your current certification will not be valid for much longer!  Read on for details!

Effective January 1, 2009, all producers wishing to sell LTC in Washington must take a new one-time LTC certification course consisting of 8 hours of LTC training.    The new course now includes additional federal and state laws as well as partnership information that was not included in the first certification course.  If you’re currently certified under the “old” course, that certification will last until 7/1/2009 or your license renewal date, whichever occurs earliestPlease click HERE for the link to the Washington office of the Insurance Commissioner that details this new educational requirement.

ProSchools is in the process of preparing this new course to take care of our customers.  I anticipate having the course approved within the next few weeks.  Please note that you will NOT be able to actually take the course until 1/1/2009 due to OIC rules.  Please let me know if you have any questions that cannot be answered through the above link, and I will be happy to address them for you!
