Testing Provider Changes: New Information!!

Hello PIBers!  I have some new information regarding the changing of insurance testing providers in Oregon.  Courtesy of Jim Thompson, Oregon’s insurance licensing manager, here are some of the details:

  • Promissor, the current testing provider, will cease giving insurance exams as of 11/30/2007.  No exam reservations will be made through Promissor after this date.
  • Thompson Prometric, the new testing provider, will begin accepting examination reservations as of (approximately) 11/19/2007.
  • The telephone number for Thompson’s examination reservation line is 888-763-0135.  Please note that this phone number will not be live until (in theory) 11/19/2007.  So, don’t call until then!
  • The fees for the exams are changing as well:
  • For single line insurance exams (i.e. life insurance only) the fee will be $55.00
  • For multiple line insurance exams (i.e. life and health) the fee will be $65.00
  • No testing center locations have been announced.  I expect an email shortly that will detail the locations and hours of operation, and I will post this information in the blog as soon as I have it.
  • We have not yet received any information concerning any changes to the test content outline.  The thought is that it will not be changing much at all.  If you are curious as to what Prometric’s outline currently looks like in other states, click  HERE.  I will be on top of this and communicate this information to you as soon as I have it.

This is all I have at this point…watch the PIB for further info.  If you have any questions or concerns, please leave a comment and I will be sure to reply!
