Costliest Catastrophes of 2011

2011 has not been a kind year when looking at the natural disasters that have befallen the world.  In fact, 2011 year-to-date is on pace to set the record for catastrophic losses in terms of dollars and cents.  Below you will find the five costliest disasters this year, in reverse order:

1.  Japan earthquake and tsunami
More than $210 billion and 15,500 fatalities
