Hello everyone! I have some news for you! Oregon has joined the states that now allow resident producers to apply for their initial insurance license online! Say goodbye (”bye!”) to paper license applications in this state, and say hello to the National Insurance Producer Registry, or “NIPR!”
Oregon is one of a handful of states that have embraced online applications, and this authority extends to resident and non-resident applications, both initial and renewal!
This is a marvelous thing…it should shorten the application process by 50%! Normally, using the paper apps, it is taking roughly 1 month to process license applications. With the NIPR online application, that should come down to approximately 10 days. WooHoo!
Now, there are still some paperwork requirements, such as fingerprints for first-time license applicants, certain fees that still must be paid, etc. Here’s the link to the NIPR website that explains all of the rules and “got-to-do’s” and be sure to scroll down the linked page to Oregon and read the rules!
Finally, here’s the link to the application itself: http://www.nipr.com/
Please let me know if you have any questions, and I will do all I can to answer!
